Geocache Description:

[CZ] Kaple sv. Kaplicka tu stála až do roku 1937.

[EN] St. Anna Chapel was built in this place in 1766. By legend a ranger Johan Kastner from Horní Rokytnice had once to spend one night in the forest near the hill. He happened to hear out three hoboes just planning to raid his gamekeeper’s lodge. Gratitude for the chance to be ready for this even he promised to St. Anna to erect a chapel on this hill. As he promised he did.

The chapel was rebuilt by a countess Johanna von Nostitz- Rieneck in 1820. Another reconstruction underwent in 1856, this time thanks to the benefactress Ernestina von Nostitz- Rieneck. According to her the hill was called Ernestinenberg- the folk Czech name Arnoštka. Next to the chapel a stony crucifix with St. Mary statue was posed. Cast iron plates were later added there to protect walls against weather foulness. The chapel was here to 1937. By that time- because of German danger- a construction of fortress line all over the border ridge of the Orlické hory (mountains) was built. Fortunately the chapel wasn’t destroyed but demounted and transported to close village Hadinec.

Heavy forts line created by autonomous infantry casemates have been finished as building structures from Bouda to Komárí vrch finishing there with an artillery observatory RS-91 for Hanicka. There were created two infantry blockhouses in Anenský vrch (Anna’s hill) – RS-84 Arnošt and RS-85 Anna. The edifice has begun in 1936 and must have been surrendered in September 1938 after the Munich Arrangement events. To interested person I recommend to visit a well rebuilding blockhouse RS-87 Prusek (Clearing) nearby (N 50°13.442' E 016°30.089') or an artillery fortress Hanicka (N 50°11.788' E 016°30.580').

More joyful occasions of Anenský vrch (991metres above sea level) determined women I see. Let‘s fail to remember omnipresent blockhouses and devote a trinket to the cache to Annes or the other girls.
