Mt Shokanbetsu near Uryu and the wetlands. Beautiful day hike, only
possible in the non-snow season.
Take the road into the wetlands near Uryu, about a hour drive.
Park, pay if you want, hike to the wetlands, then hike to the top
of Minami Shokanbetsu Dake. At the top.

Not FoundBut it went to the locale in searching, does the position where it is indicated in GPS is thought, that there is many a thing which is in the midst of using goes in and it was the circumstance where it hesitates that you search, being, increase the information of position?

I didn't find it.
When I arrive at destination, there was all over snowscape.
Therefore I have whether " cache " is somewhere examination, it did not come.

Are the coordinates correct? They put the cache only about a mile (1.6 km) from the JR Takikawa Station, on the east bank of Ishikari River, quite a ways from the peak of South Shokanbetsu. I'm reluctant to try the hike and brute-force the cache, since the peak is at least 10 miles roundtrip from the campground.Edit 10/17/2006: I posted the coordinates of South Shokanbetsu based on Google Maps. Forecast for today is rain & thunderstorms, so I won't be making an attempt today. Not sure when I'll be in Hokkaido next... good luck to the FTF!
