The Railway Station of Loimaa was built as a Class III station
house in 1875-76. It is the only surviving member of its class in
Finland. From the cache site, you can see the
Town Church of Loimaa. The church is modern style, it was built
in 1973 and designed by Reino Lukander. Loimaa is a country town with 13,000
inhabitants. It is the birth town of Mrs. hassutvisut :-) Places
worth visiting in Loimaa, in addition to the railway station and
the Town Church, are the old
Country Church, built in the 1830's, designed by C. Bassin and
C.L. Engel, and the Statue
Park of Alpo Jaakola.
Slightly larger than a film canister, the cache is located on
the platform. There is no need to go on the rails nor to cross
the red safety line.
