I have decided to place this cache as a response to my recent
trip to Winnipeg where I recorded my 300th find.I felt this spot
was the closest in geography I was going to get in the lower
mainland. There is flat land, lots of fresh water, a few mosquitos,
and dykes to hold the water back. On the road just off the dyke
there is steady stream of pick-ups and SUVs speeding to the river
with boats in tow.
There are also a lot Cottonwood trees—the only tree I seemed to
see in greater Winnipeg. If you look past the cottonwoods to the
pastoral farmland beyond…it could be Manitoba…especially on a hot
summer afternoon.
But alas….this is not Manitoba. Evidence of this included the
mountains ringing Pitt Meadows…there is even a Volcano not that far
away: Mount Baker in prominent to the South East. Other things not
found in Manitoba are the black berry brambles, the fields of
Blueberries and the Great Herons nesting all around. All things
that we can enjoy because of our temperate non-Manitoba winter.
The cache features a genuine Manitoba Geocache Cache Label and a
Manitoba Geocoin that I picked from a Manitoba cache two weeks
ago…not far from another river lined by Giant Manitoba sized
cottonwoods.

This cache will also be the starting off point for Mooovilis
my new bovine travel bugs. I could see no cows in the adjoining
fields, but I know there are some not far away. It is a lovely
pastoral setting to visit other “Pastures” in the future. If you
