This is basically a linier walk from trefil to pontsticill viewing stones on the way

The walk of the memorial stones.
The walk starts from the village of trefil head north to find the memorial to aneurin Bevan. His ashes were scattered over these uplands along with his love jenny

Is the one that gives this cache its name the t2520 crashed on these hills on dec 9th 1940 all the crew were killed more details can be found @

Extreme care should be taken as the countryside around here has been extensively quarried
Hence the grading you need a good working knowledge of maps and compasses and be prepared for extreme weather even in summer in no circumstances should this be attempted in the fog as the drops are over 100 ft with no discernable paths to follow
The cache coordinates are N51-48-843 W003-19-397
In the cache are the coordinates of the memorial to those that died
You could turn back now or carry on for the challenge of finding two more stones and a good pub to recover in
The next stone is the trig point at N51-48-887 W003-19-557
At over 2000 ft I believe that it is the most southerly of the welsh 2000ft peaks
If the last stone was not two hard you now need to be very careful to pick a route to the inscribed stone at N51-48-568 W003-20-796
This stone reputedly proclaimed the marriage of a princess in pre roman times
From here I suggest a walk to the red cow in pontsticill at co ordinates
N51-47-589 W003-22-091
THERE IS ONE PATH BUT IT IS VERY WET AND EASLY LOST SO REMEMBER WHERE YOU ARE AND TRACK YOUR JOURNEYYOU SHOULD COME OFFTHE MOUNTAIN NEAR THE SAILING CLUB
