Short Description:
This cache is a three part Multi Mystery
Cache. Once the first part is found there are calculations and
clues leading to the second and then on to the final Main cache
which is your goal. This cache will test both your mental powers
and also your GPS skills. You would be well advised to bring your
GPS Manual, unless you are confident of your ability. It is best
attempted in a 4x4, but an ordinary car can pass most of the route
(if you select the correct route!) and part must be done on
foot.

Esta cache é uma Cache
Multi-Mistério dividida em três partes. Logo que a
primeira parte é encontrada há cálculos e
indícios que conduzem à segunda parte e depois
à cache principal e final que é o seu
objectivo.
Esta cache testará os seus poderes
mentais e também a sua habilidade com o GPS. Aconselha-se
que traga o Manual do GPS, a não ser que esteja confiante na
sua habilidade. Um 4x4 é melhor mas um carro vulgar pode
fazer a maior parte do trajecto (se você escolher a rota
correcta!). Parte deste trajecto deve ser feito a
pé.
Long Description
It was not too long ago that
Portugal was under the authoritarian rule of a man that could
be
described as a
Dictator. It is not the place here to dwell
on the good or bad points of his rule, nor on
whether the Portuguese people
are happier, wiser and more prosperous under the present
regime!
However, this Dictator was not
only shrewd, but is also reputed to have enjoyed puzzles, in a
similar manner to da Vinci, who has gained more recent celebrity.
Was he too, a member of Opus Dei? There are rumours of hidden art
works, secreted away during the Portuguese neutrality in the war,
of treasure troves, and coded clues to their
whereabouts.
This is one such
possibility!
At the first site, for which
the coordinates are given above, there is a highly relevant and
significant object to be found. On that object there is a year
date. (Hint 1: It is also worth noting any other significant words
on the object as they may come in useful further down the line. A
digital camera might be a useful here!!)
Now the Dictator managed to
secrete two useful pieces of information in that simple year date.
First there is the distance in metres from this point. Secondly
there is the direction to be travelled. This direction can be found
by multiplying all the digits of the year together and this
represents the bearing of the next cache in degrees
True.
So having found the distance
and the bearing to the next part, ALL you have to do is make your
way there using your GPS and road navigational skills. (Hint 2: You
will travel considerably further than the given distance unless you
are a strong swimmer, or have brought a boat with
you!!)
When you arrive at this
location, the cache will be reasonably obvious, so do not worry
about being a few metres or one or two degrees out in your
readings.

há muito tempo, Portugal foi governado com autoritarismo por
um homem que poderá ser descrito como um Ditador. Não
cabe aqui discutir as vantagens ou desvantagens do seu regime nem
se o povo português está mais feliz, mais sábio
e mais próspero sob o regime actual! Contudo, este ditador
era não só perspicaz como tinha a
reputação de apreciar puzzles, de uma forma
semelhante aos de Da Vinci, que se tornou célebre
recentemente. Pertenceria ele também à Opus Dei?
Existem rumores de obras de arte escondidas, trazidas secretamente
durante a neutralidade de Portugal na Guerra, de tesouros, e de
indícios/chaves codificados(as) sobre as suas
localizações.
Esta é uma
possibilidade semelhante!
No primeiro local, para o
qual as coordenadas acima são dadas, existe um objecto
altamente relevante e significativo a ser encontrado. No objecto
encontra-se a data de um ano. (sugestão 1: Deve anotar
quaisquer outras palavras significativas no objecto pois podem vir
a ser úteis mais tarde. Pode ser útil ter aqui uma
máquina fotográfica
digital.)
O Ditador conseguiu
esconder duas informações úteis naquele data
simples do ano. Primeiro há a distancia em metros deste
ponto. Segundo há o sentido do percurso. Esta
direcção/sentido pode ser encontrada ao multiplicar
todos os dígitos do ano e isto representa a
direcção no bússola em graus verdadeiros da
cache seguinte.
Portanto tendo encontrado a
distância e a direcção para a parte seguinte,
TUDO o que precisa de fazer para lá chegar é usar o
GPS e as suas habilidades de navegação de estrada..
(Sugestão 2: Você percorrerá uma
distância consideravelmente maior do que a distância
fornecida a menos que você seja um bom nadador, ou tenha
trazido um barco consigo!!)
Quando
chegar a este local, a cache estará razoavelmente evidente,
por isso não se preocupe se fizer uma leitura errada de
alguns metros ou um ou dois graus.

Go to the nearest kilometre
and count back when you arrive.
