Geocache Description:

"We caught a 30-pound DigitalFish!!!
It fought for 45 minutes and towed us around in our kayaks
until it broke the line! Ohhh, you should have seen it!"

We ended up collecting about 15 DigitalFish (you can log them @ DigitalFish) during our cache hunts, so what better area to hide them in than this one, where they can be in the company of rainbow trout, large and small mouth bass, catfish, kokanee, and crappie, at the Indian Valley Reservoir! Boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, and hunting are among the recreational activities enjoyed at Indian Valley Reservoir.

The cache can be accessed only by using some type of watercraft (or "4x4 kayak" ) that does not exceed the 10-mph speed limit. We used our kayaks to place this hide, and during that time, we were able to see a Bald Eagle, an Oprey's nest, Cormorants, ducks, a Blue Heron, and many animal tracks. And although we did not see any bears, we are sure they are lurking around this area.

You can access the reservoir by taking Hwy. 20 to Walker Ridge Road to Bartlett Springs Road, or by taking Hwy. 20 to Bear Valley Road to Brim Road to Bartlett Springs Road. Whichever route you decide depends on where your starting point may be. We recommend high-clearance vehicles while driving on this lengthy dirt road. Use caution during and after the rain season as the road may be too muddy even for 4x4's.

You might want to grab Armchair Climber's cache, Indian Valley Reservoir Multi, that inspired us to place a cache of our own here. The cache fishing limit is qty. 2, but since it's a "catch and release" system, please take two and leave a fish-related item. Be sure to tell a "fish story" about your cache find in the log.
