Geocache Description:

Of the many cues that influence behavior, at any point in time, none is more common than the actions of others" (1986)

Albert Bandura

Albert Bandura is a Canadian psychologist best known for his work on social learning theory (social cognitivism) and self-efficacy. He is particularly noted for the Bobo doll experiment.

He attended a small high school (two teachers and 20 students), after which he spent a summer filling holes on the Alaska Highway in the Yukon. He received his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of British Columbia in 1949, and then went on to earn a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 1952. It was at Iowa that he became fascinated by behaviorist tradition and learning theory.

Behaviorism

Behaviorism deals with variables that can be observed, measured, and manipulated, and avoids whatever is subjective and internal. It emphasizes experimental methods, in which one variable is manipulated in order to observe its effects on another variable. Behavior is caused solely by the environment; Bandura's field of study (aggression in adolescents) called for a more complex view of personality. He suggested that while environment may cause behavior, behavior can also "cause" environment. He labeled this concept reciprocal determinism: in other words, the world and a person’s behavior are mutually causal.

Bandura accepts one of behaviorism's tenets: that consequences condition behavior; but he goes beyond it to look at the impact that behavior has on the environment. This reversal can be seen in other areas of psychology as well, where reciprocated impact can be observed and recorded.

The Cache

The cache is not at the listed coordinates, they are completely meaningless. The cache is within one mile of the listed coordinates. You can park at a traditional Massabesic gated trailheads; there's one reasonably close to the cache to its south. Follow a well-defined path to the cache location. The cache is located within approximately 20 feet of the path. The cache is well hidden, but if you don't replace it just as you find it, it could easily be found by a non-cacher and taken. Please rehide it carefully! The cache is a small Lock and Lock type container.

You can use these numbers to, ahem, determine, the cache's true coordinates:

0.023267832059
0.014014751086

FTFP prize is a BackBrakeBilly puzzle geocoin. I will transfer ownership to the finder.
