SK: Súradnice vedú pred „nový“ evanjelický kostol. Kostol bol
postavený v tridsiatych rokoch minulého storocia na vtedajšom
Tranovského (Tranoscius) námestí. Vtedy ešte týmito miestami
prechádzala ulica Scota Viatora. Neskôr, zrejme pri rozšírení
areálu pivovaru Stein bola táto ulica zastavaná. Po výstavbe
internátu Jura Hronca (Bernolák) v šestdesiatych rokoch nahradili v
sedemdesiatych rokoch priestory pivovaru pred kostolom športové
ihriská. Na kostolnej veži boli v minulosti identifikované pukliny,
preto sa zvon dlho nevyužíval. V devätdesiatych rokoch bola veža
spevnená ocelovými obrucami a zacalo sa so zvonením. Po nie dlhom
case sa ukázalo, že napriek rekonštrukcii veža nezvláda otrasy a
prešlo sa na zvonenie „zo záznamu“ - cez reproduktory. Pri
nasadzovaní spomínaných obrucí sa zrejme nepodarilo celkom kvalitne
položit obklad veže, takže vyzerá dost ošarpane.

EN: The coordinates will take you in front of the „new“ evangelic
church. The church was built in the thirties of the previous
century on the former Tranovsky`s (Tranoscius) Square. In those
days Scotus Viator`s street laid on this place. Later, probably due
to enlargement of neighboring Stein brewery the street was blocked.
In the sixties the hostel Bernolak was built and after that in the
seventies playgrounds exchanged the brewery area in front of the
church In the past cracks were identified in the wall of the church
tower. This was reason why the bell was not used for a long time.
In the nineties the tower was made stronger using steel frames and
after that the bell started to ring again. After a short time the
tower showed not to be firm enough. The ringing from tape has been
used since then. After placing the steel frames the cladding on the
tower wall was not placed very well, so the church tower now looks
quite battered.
