Will the Real Cache Please Stand Up? Mystery Cache
J5 Crew: I'm sure there are many cachers out there happy to see this one go... After giving it much thought, I have decided to archive this one. It was a good challenge but it apparently did not generate much traffic. Kudos to aliasmom for being the last finder of the cache, which had not been found in over 3 years. It was tough! Today, I removed the cache and what was left of the decoys. Thanks to all that hunted for this cache and sorry for the frustration! [:D]

This cache is located in the Pacheco Valle and Loma Verde Open Space Preserve and is part of a 3-mile hiking-caching loop that I have put together along the Little Cat, Chicken Shack, and Ponti fire roads. The loop is very steep and challenging at times, but there is plenty of reward with beautiful views and up to 15 caches to find along the way!
To start your adventure, it is recommended that you park either at: (1) N38º 02.870 W122º 32.588 for the Little Cat fire road trailhead, which is at N38º 02.881 W122º 32.620; or (2) N38º 02.801 W122º 32.718 for the Ponti fire road trailhead, which is at N38º 02.809 W122º 32.735.
NOTE: Do not get confused by several closure signs along the Ponti fire road. The Ponti fire road is closed only to vehicular traffic due to a landslide, but hikers, bikers, and equestrians are permitted to pass.
The cache is not at the above coordinates. The coordinates will lead you to a large "X" on the ground in a grove of bay trees. Within 50 feet of this X, I have hidden 11 camouflaged bison tubes. Only one is the true cache with a log. The others are decoys with a simple message of "Try Again." You will know it when you find the actual cache -- it will be like winning the Golden Ticket.
Good luck, be gentle, and please replace the caches exactly the way you found them for others to enjoy the hunt and please rehide the cache the same or better for others to experience the challenge. If this one is an easy find for you, please let me know... something may be wrong that needs fixing. Thanks!
