The Reason:
Mary and David are in the US to welcome the birth of their first
grandchild. In the process, they have passed the 3000 find mark.
However, they are returning to the sunburnt country on 6 October.
So, to celebrate their return, and their 3000th find, we're having
a:
Trivia
Night
There will be six rounds, with the following subjects:
- General Knowledge
- Five other subjects
There will be prizes (donations will be gratefully accepted, but
are not mandatory). We'll rustle up some bottles of wine, and some
geocaching-related goodies.
Date and Time:
Date: Saturday, 21 October 2006
Registration Time: 7:30 p.m.
Trivia Time: 8:00 p.m.
Please come earlier than the 8:00 p.m. start time to have a
chance to meet with other cachers, and to organise your
teams/tables.

There is plenty of off-street parking.
If you approach the location via Beach Rd, you'll pass through
the only remaining hand-operated railway gates in Victoria (S 37°
55.905, E 144° 59.595).
The RSL has a bistro, which serves the usual pub/club fare.
Average cost of a main meal is $15. The trivia competition starts
at 8:00 p.m., and the bistro opens at 6:00 p.m. Why not make a
night of it and have a meal in the bistro before the event?
There is a bar in the room we'll be using, and all manner of
alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available at bar prices.
This is not a BYO venue!
The RSL does have a small number of poker machines, but
it is not a 'gaming venue' as such. The pokies are located well
away from the event room.
The Logistics:
The room has rectangular tables that seat eight people. These
can be broken apart to seat four people each. So, you can organise
with other geocaching teams to form a trivia team, or you can just
turn up and team up with others on the night, or you can form your
own team. You don't have to organise a whole table by yourself.
What you have to do:
The venue would like an idea of how many people will be
attending. If there are a lot of people, they will arrange
to put extra bar staff on. 
So, when you indicate your
intention to attend please also indicate how many people will
be attending.
Also, they would like to advise the catering staff if a
larger-than-normal number of people will be having a meal. So, if
you intend having a meal in the bistro before the event, please
indicate this in your "will attend" log. If
you intend having a meal at the bistro, it is essential that you
call the RSL and book a table: (03) 9598 0460.
