Hrad Lietava je oblubenym vyletnym miestom pre ludi z okolia Ziliny. Bol postaveny pravdepodobne po roku 1241 ako vojenske centrum. Dlhy cas pani z Lietavy ovladali dokonca aj mesto Zilinu.
| V rokoch 1300-21 sa hrad spaja s menom Matusa Caka, neskor patril kralovi Zigmundovi. Pocas vlastnictva Pavla Kiniziho doslo k viacerym stavebnym upravam, ktory dokumentuje zachovaly pieskovcovy erb na stene gotickeho palaca. Výrazné renesancné zásahy uskutocnil pri prestavbe v 16. storocí Mikuláš Kostka. Posledni vyznamni majitelia Lietavy boli Thurzovci. Napriek tomu, ze Thurzovci byvali na Bytcianskom zamku, Lietavu pouzivali ako bezpecne |

Dnes je hrad vo velmi zlom stave, a preto vzniklo v roku 1999 Zdruzenie za zachranu Lietavskeho hradu. Toto zdruzenie sa pomocou workshopov a dobrovolnickych akcii snazi zachovat hrad v dnesnej podobe, aby mohol sluzit ako turisticka atrakcia aj nadalej. |

Cache je ulozena mimo arealu hradu na velmi verejnom mieste. Preto je potrebne byt pri vyberani a vkladani cache nenapadny a poriadne ju zamaskovat.

| The castle Lietava is a very popular place for trips for the people living in the Zilina area. The castle was built probably after 1241 as a military fortress. For quite a long time the nobles that owned Lietava castle ruled also the nearby city of Zilina. In the years 1300-21 the castle is mentioned in connection with Matus Cak (very reknowned noble in this area), later it was owned also by Zigmund the king of Bohemia and Roman Emperor. Several parts of the castle were added during the time when Pavel Kinizi was in charge. On the wall of the gothic hall built by Kinizi, there is the coat of arms of his family built of stone. additions to the castle were made in the 16th century by Mikuláš Kostka. The last famous noble family in charge of Lietava was the family of Thurzo. Despite the fact that the Thurzos lived in a castle in Bytca, they used the well fortified Lietava castle as a secure hideout in cases of rebellions. They moved the whole family archive and treasure to the castle for safekeeping. After the Thurzos, the castle lost its importance and slowly deteriorated.
Today the castle is in a poor shape and so in 1999 the Association to save Lietava castle was founded. It organizes volunteers and workshops to save the castle so that it can remain a safe attraction and as popular destination as it is now.

Cache is placed outside the castle on a public place so stealth is REALLY required when attempting to recover it.
