Geocache Description:

Near the place that long ago was known as Paradise Park. Parking may be tricky, but finding the cache shouldn't be.

I went and checked out the cache today (3-19-08)and found that it indeed had been muggled. So sad. It has been replaced in the same coordinates as the last one. It has all sorts of new goodies in it. A wind up hippo, alligator pen, penny angel, beaded necklace, toy cow, wooden geocoin from "The Camping Crew",and a toy fireman plus a few other things. Enjoy again.

This place, purchased from property of the Lillie Hitchcock Coit Estate, opened in 1935 and was once known as Paradise Park was frequented by socialites. There used to be a lodge, airstrip, cabins, and a swimming pool fed by a natural spring. The swimming pool is the only part of the old Paradise Park that remains. My grandfather relayed a funny story of one evening when he had taken my grandmother up to the lodge for an evening of dancing. He recalled that as they were entering the lodge, they were passed by two couple running out of the lodge stripping off clothes as they went and by the time they hit the pool, they were naked as jaybirds and ready to take a skinney dip. My grandmother, of course, stood in shock, as any proper young lady of the times should have done. Though it has a different name now, the original beauty of the area still remains for all to enjoy. Once you have found the cache, we hope that you find the area interesting enough to partake in the activities available from horseback riding, and hiking, to just having a picnic. Again, ENJOY!! The cache is an ammo container, inside you will find:
A log book and pen
FTF certificate
binoculars
fingernail clippers
fireman
butterfly
popper
lizard
Am. flag pin
wooden nickel geocoin
