Diesen neuesten Kokopelli haben wir an einem besonderen Tag versteckt und wollten deshalb dafür auch einen ganz besonderen Ort wählen. Prinzipiell standen die Chancen dafür gar nicht schlecht, immerhin ist es Hochsommer und damit die Grundvoraussetzung gegeben. Nicht aber in diesem Jahr, genau in diesem, in dem es um einen ganz besonders besonderen Tag geht (na ja, es hat was mit Lebensmitte und Reife und Kerzen auspusten zu tun), denn diesmal, 2006, ist alles anders: Seit Anfang August „verhagelt“ uns Petrus unsere Pläne, der Himmel streikt und schüttet Nasses auf uns und dort, wo der besondere Cache liegen soll, ist es sogar dieses eklige weiße Etwas, was wir sonst nur aus anderen Jahreszeiten kennen. Aber wieder einmal erweist es sich, dass Alter alles andere als klug macht, denn der Gefeierte geht fest davon aus, dass es sich um eine hauchdünne Schicht Weißes handelt, die ratz fatz weg geschmolzen sein sollte. Auf 1800 Metern Höhe werden wir eines anderen belehrt, gehen noch weiter bis 2200 m Höhe und kapitulieren dort, weil wir bis zu unseren Po’s im Schnee stecken. Nun gut, wir hatten diesem Kokopelli zwar schon die eigentliche Zielhöhe als Nummerierung zugeteilt, denken aber, dass es uns unsere Mitcacher verzeihen werden, wenn sie ihn auf „nur“ 2200 Höhenmetern ausgraben werden. Ob das in diesem Jahr noch mal möglich sein wird, wissen wir natürlich nicht, das regelt ja der Petrus, aber toll wäre es schon. Wir drücken die Daumen dafür und wünschen happy caching!
Klassischerweise kommt man an dem Cacheversteck auf dem Abstieg von der Alpspitze vorbei, wenn man über Nordgänge und Ostgrat oder über die Via Ferrata aufsteigt. In dem Fall muss man Klettersteige passieren (unbedingt vorher in der einschlägigen Literatur erkundigen und nur mit Klettersteig-Ausrüstung machen!). Mit Kindern oder wenn man nicht trittsicher und schwindelfrei ist, kann man aber vom Kreuzeckhaus aus erst einmal östlich der Bernadeinwände gen Süden ziehen und dann zum Stuibensee nach Südwesten in die Höhe ziehen.
We hided this new Kokopelli on a very special day und therefore wanted to choose a very special location. In principle, the odds were pretty good , it is high summer season and therefore best precondition given for our plan. But not in this year, exactly in this year, where we have a very special special day (ok, it deals with midlife, maturity and blowing out candles), because in this year everything is different: From the beginning of August on, Petrus destroys our plans, the sky is striking and pours a lot of wet on us and there, where the cache is going to be hidden, it is even this ugly white something, which we normally just know from other seasons. But again we have to learn that aging doesn’t mean to become wiser, as the birthday “child” is convinced that there is just a very thin layer of this white something which should be melted immediately after sunrise. We had to discover that this is not the case on 1,800 mt. altitude, but we continue to climb until 2,200 mt. altitude and then capitulate, because we are stuck in bum-high snow. Well, we already had given the original altitude of our target location as number for this Kokopelli, but hope that our co-cachers forgive us when they will dig it up in “just” 2,220 mt. altitude. We do not know whether there will be an opportunity to do so yet in this year, because it’s up to Petrus, but we keep our fingers crossed that it will happen. We wish you good luck and happy caching!
You normally pass the cache location on the descent from Alpspitze, if you take "Nordgaenge" and "Ostgrat" or the Via Ferrata as ascent. In that case you have to pass fixed rope routes (please inform yourself in the corresponding literature before you start and do that only with the adequate climbing equipment!!!). You can also choose another way with children and/or if you are not free from giddiness. In that case, you can start from Kreuzeckhaus east of "Bernadeinwände" southwards and then go southwest to the "Stuibenlake".
