Geocache Description:

A micro cache along a bicycle path in Lincoln, NH

Lincoln is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire. The population was 1,271 at the 2000 census. It is the home of the New Hampshire Highland Games and to a portion of Franconia State Park. Parts of the White Mountain National Forest are in the East and West. The Appalachian Trail crosses the Northeast. In 1764, Colonial Governor Benning Wentworth granted 32,456 acres to a group of land investors from Connecticut. "Lincoln" was named after Henry Fiennes Pelham-Clinton, 2nd Duke of Newcastle, 9th Earl of Lincoln. The town was settled about 1782. For years, Lincoln was known for its abundant timber with water power to run a sawmill on the Pemigewasset River. Today because of its ideal location, Lincoln is known for its abundance of outdoor recreation including hiking, swimming, skiing, and of course, geocaching! The cache is hidden along a bicycle path in Lincoln along Rte. 112 (Kancamagus Highway). Parking is available nearby and a short walk will bring you to the cache location. Beware of muggles and bikers. Feel free to bring your own bike and ride all the way to Loon Mountain or Franconia Notch. The cache is a small micro cache. There is only enough room for your initials on the log sheet. Please just use initials and write small!!! Definitely no room for a pen or pencil, so be sure to bring your own. Muggles abound, so please use stealth and replace the cache exactly as you found it.
