Geocache Description:

From Masterton, just north of the Pukaha Mt Bruce Wildlife Centre on the west side of State Highway 2 lies the Anzac Bridge monument. It was built by a local resident Alfred Falkner as a memorial to the local people who served in WW1, and also because there was a real need for a bridge. The bridge opened in December 1922 and the plaques were unveiled on Anzac Day 1923. After WW2 further names were added. In 1956 a new bridge was built but the old one being a memorial was not destroyed.

When arriving in the area, you can use the carpark for the W.A.Millar Reserve, on the south side of the Bridge. Once you stop the car you will be surrounded by friendly, hungry hens and roosters. Bring some scraps and bread and they will be forever thankful. The carpark co-ords are……

The track leading to the Anzac Bridge and the cache, is level and an easy 4 minute walk, following the yellow limestone pathway towards the old bridge. There is a simple Stile to be climbed, so it is not accessible entirely to the cache, by wheelchair.

Otherwise you can pass over the newer modern day bridge and park on the same side of the road facing north at the wire farm gate and walk back towards the Old Bridge on a "still fairly smooth", unused tarseal roadway. This is probably the easiest way now the terrain mentioned above has deteriorated somewhat from Council neglect, since first ever publishing this cache site!!!

The cache is in a 1 lL Systema Camo Container.
Various treasures to be found within, including the necessary Log Book, Pencil and Sharpener.

**PLEASE TAKE NOTE**
We are no longer living in the Wairarapa area. The winterless north is now our home. So if someone wishes to check our caches when they are seeking them out and replace anything that needs to be ...... then thank you very much. That will keep the cache going. Otherwise we will have no choice but to archive the cache, and another one bites the dust.
