Koolrat 2: The Fort Ord Re-use Authority (FORA)will be closing off access to areas previously open to the public on Fort Ord starting in October 2007. They are going to be doing a clean-up of the lands in preparation for final title transfer of the property to new agencies. This action has facilitated that I close.

Geocache Description:

On a dirt road, just off the old road to East Garrison

Camoed coffee can hidden just off the dirt side road. Room for TB's and trade items. I think this was an old jeep road when this base was active. It's now used by mountain bikes and horses. No bushwacking needed.

Caution! Do not drive your motor vehicle any further then the cache site.

Driving in the back country of Ft Ord can get you a ticket and you could wind up in Federal Court. Your vehicle could also be impounded.
