Geocache Description:

Micro cache, across the street from an easy spot to pull over!

Henry Coe park is one huge piece of wilderness! It includes numerous (steep) trails that are more than a day's hike. You can also be assured of solitude, even on summer weekends, if you hike away from the park HQ.

This spot is the closest you can get to the far northwest corner of the park without a serious multi-day hike from park headquarters. A mere 1.6 miles due south of this cache is Henry Coe park. (If you know Coe well, you might be surprised to see how flat it is in this area.)

If there ever was to be a northern entrance to the park, this would be a logical spot. Currently it is fenced-off private property.

Maybe someday access will be sold or given to the State for an entrance here. (Just in case you think I'm suggesting telling the property owners to pack their bags, I don't believe eminent domain should be used for purposes such as remote parkland).

(See GCY7PJ for an interesting potential remote access point from the south end of Henry Coe. Visitor's center is complete, but the road to it is only open to local residents!)

Enjoy the view and tell me if you think you can see 1.6 miles from here!
