Site of another gold mine in Star Lake area which locals helped us
discover. We also enjoyed reading up on the history of gold mining
as well as other mining in a local Whiteshell history book.
Ammo box contains FTF certificate - FTFinder may also take one item
of choice. Also contains logbook, pencils, and many other items for
trading. Please re-hide cache well.
If you know whether this is the original Sunbeam mine, please let
us know in your log. If you have been involved in mining, please
tell us your story. Enjoy the lovely hike, the beaver activity and
scenery by the mine area (safely cemented shaft by now), but watch
your step amongst the 'rusty leftovers'.

September 6, 2009 by crabbything (202 found) We found this one after a long walk. Ended up running into a local who told us a few stories and kept us entertained. Then off to find the cache and head to the next one. Thanks.

August 26, 2009 by monti289 (392 found) The skeeters almost made us abandon the search and run for the shelter of the car, but we had enough blood left to make the find first! tftc

July 4, 2009 by Skoki (754 found) Great hike on a gorgeous day with team rekal! Saw a beautiful stag in full velvet on the way in to this cache. The light was hitting it perfectly and we completely forgot about our camera safely tucked into our bag; shucks! He wasn't at all concerned about us. I think we got our yearly tick quota today with all of our hikes. We were still crawling with them when we got home. Lucky us!! TFTC!
