#2 in the "Search for Galileo's Telescope" series. Short 1/4 mile hike to the top of the old quarry, but you'll have to gain a few hundred feet of elevation. Great views from the top.
Parking at N42 03 724, W72 42.553, take the dirt bike trail to your east about 25 yards before you get to the cement blocks, despite where your GPS is pointing. Enjoy the huge glacial erratic near the trail and the parking lot. That's a big chunk of mountain that came down. Most of the vertical is in the first 80 yards of the trail. Once you hit the ridge, follow the old logging road to the cache.
Small children should be watched, there are steep drop-offs 50 yards past the cache. Enjoy the view! If you are lucky, you may catch a young man playing bongos from the top of the ridge.
