This is a hiker’s
“reward” cache that is located in W. E. Johnson Park. This cache will
provide you with yet another reason to go out and do some light
trail hiking in this wonderful natural park area that is close to
town. Yes, I know, this is a MICRO! Believe me this is NOT a
hard find though… the container is out in plain sight and
eye-level (you just have to get the right angle on it). The cache
is placed to draw you to yet another point within this great park
AND log your successful journey with a cache find. The cache
container is a 1” x 4” camo’d cylinder containing
roll-up log and pencil.
Don’t forget to check out the FOUR other caches that you can go
after in this park: the
50/50,
50/50 Bonus,
ArrWeeTharYat? and
Robin’s Hood caches.
Johnson Park is used by
joggers, horse riders, mountain bikers, hikers, folks walking dogs, birders, and casual
walkers. No vehicular access is
permitted in the southern ¾ of the park (beyond the
entrance gate). The Colyak Bow Hunters lease a portion of the
northern part of
the park (north of the parking area and about 0.15 m south) for
archery ranges. Most of the trails in the
park are clear, two-track, hard-packed roads of dirt or gravel.
Some minor, single track, trails crisscross through the park and
are generally quite clear and walkable.
