An engineering marvel that everyone should see up close, in a nice
area that has been begging for a cache. Spin the globe and then
find the cache nearby. This can be a busy area at times, so be
stealthy! YOU WILL NEED A COMPASS FOR THIS CACHE!
You can find parking at N 48 47.692 W 122 29.654.
Find a plaque near the round object at Stage 1 and read all about
the history and making of this remarkable item. Divide the weight
of the round object by 1000; multiply this number by the PSI of
water levitating the object, then divide by 5 and multiply by 4 to
get value (A). Add (A) to the latitude to get the N coordinate for
Stage 2 of the cache.
Add 19 to (A) to get value (B). Add (B) to the longitude to get the
W coordinate for Stage 2 of cache.
While standing at the Stage 2 destination, take a minute to first
read about this unique object. When you are ready to continue,
sight your compass at 4 degrees. Subtract 191 from the 3-digit
number your compass points to to get value (C). Subtract (C) from
the latitude at Stage 2 to get the N coordinate for final
cache.
While standing in the same spot, sight your compass at 126 degrees.
Divide the 3-digit number your compass points to by 2, then
subtract 5 for value (D). Add (D) to the longitude from Stage 2 to
get the W coordinate for the final cache.
Happy hunting! Please send feedback on the level of difficulty or
to report errors. The difficulty was set to 2 because of the
necessity of a compass.
