The cache is located near the end of Fish Hatchery Road on the way
to the PSE hydroelectric plant at Snoqualmie Falls. There is
parking nearby from dawn to dusk. While you're here, continue on
past the hydro plant for an easy walk to the bottom of Snoqualmie
Falls.
You are looking for a small lock-n-lock just feet off the trail on
the side of the road; no need to go tramping down the hill. This
can be a busy area, so please be careful in your search.
About Snoqualmie Falls Hydro Project from
www.pse.com
Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Project No. 2493 (Snoqualmie
Project) is located on the Snoqualmie River, in Snoqualmie,
Washington. The Snoqualmie Project consists of a diversion dam
located 150 feet upstream from Snoqualmie Falls, and two
powerhouses (Plants 1 and 2) with a total installed capacity of
44.4 MW. Snoqualmie Plant 1 was originally constructed in 1898 and
contains the world's first completely underground powerhouse, built
in a cavity 270 feet below Snoqualmie Falls. Snoqualmie Plant 2,
about ¼ a mile downstream from Plant 1, was built in 1910 and
expanded in 1957.
