The tiny village of La Trappola lies below Pratomagno, one of the
highest peaks in Tuscany. The old folks of the town tell a story of
hidden treasure. It was a cursed trove, bringing misery and death
to the shepherd who overheard its whereabouts and claimed it for
himself. But that was the 19th century! Now in the 21st, a new
treasure awaits the intrepid seeker. Park at N43°37.154'
E011°39.061'
Explore the little village. Find the red and white Blazed trail
N43°37.153' E011°39.047' follow it downwards.
Say a prayer at N43°37.090' E011°39.131' keep going on the trail
and enjoy the splendid views of the Arno valley. Cache at
N43°37.074' E 011°38.999' elevation 754m. For a refreshment, drive
up the road or walk up through town and then through the pine trees
to the Bar/Restaurant called Le Tre Fonte.
