Geocache Description:

It's a beack walk with no climb.

The cache is not at the coordinates listed. To find the location for this cache, you must first solve the Kakuro puzzle below and replace ABC and DEF with the correct numbers from the puzzle. The cache is a camoed nut container buried below the lid. Cache is at

N34 11.ABC W119 14.DEF

HIJKLM are various hints that are seen by clicking on the word "mouse..." below and dragging the cursor to the right. If you feel comfortable with it log the number of clues you used.

Please do not walk on the dunes since it is a restoration area.

Hot on the heels of Sudoku comes Kakuro. Also known as Cross Sums or Kakro in Japan, you can think of them as the mathematical equivalent of crosswords. Like Sudoku, Kakuro has gained popularity after being published in Britain by The Guardian beginning in September 2005. Since then many other British papers have followed suit and now also print daily puzzles.

A Kakuro consists of a playing area of filled and empty cells similar to a crossword puzzle. Some black cells contain a diagonal slash from top left to bottom right with numbers in them, called “the clues”. A number in the top right corner relates to an “across” clue and one in the bottom left a “down” clue.

The object of a Kakuro is to insert digits from 1-9 into the white cells to total the clue associated with it. However no digit can be duplicated in an entry. For example the total 6 you could have 1 & 5, 2 & 4 but not 3 & 3. Sound simple? Be warned it gets hard and is as addictive as Sudoku.

Sorry to anyone who could not see the small numbers on the puzzle. The fuzzy picture was not meant to be part of the puzzle. I have made it a bit larger.

Please do not try this one if you do not feel comfortable with math, logic, or puzzles. I gave the difficulty rating a 3 because it is a hard puzzle and there are numerous places you can get a headache, but if you are a puzzle, math, logic wiz it will not be hard for you.
I solved the original puzzle in about 1 hour.

Note: Puzzle was taken from Hard Kakuro Puzzle Cache by Sask_girl & Novy (GCVP5E) Saskatchewan so if you solve this one and go to Saskatchewan then that one should be easy. The write up for Kakuro was also borrowed from Geo Kakuro by stepol (GCTP6A) Virginia. Sorry I'm such a geo-pirate but I'm lazy.
