Seit Jahrhunderten ist das Kloster Lluc der bedeutendste
Wallfahrtsort der Insel.
Die Legende besagt, dass ein Hirtenjunge namens Lluc im Jahr 1230
eine halb im Boden vergrabene Marienfigur, die Schwarze Madonna -
im Volksmund „La Morenita“ genannt (die kleine Dunkle)
- fand. Er brachte seinen Fund zum Pfarrer der damals gerade neu
gebauten Kapelle Sant Pere in Escorca (etwa 5 km von Lluc
entfernt), der die Madonnenfigur in seiner Kapelle aufstellte. Doch
am nächsten Morgen war sie verschwunden. Man fand sie schliesslich
an genau der gleichen Stelle, an der sie Lluc schon einen Tag
vorher entdeckt hatte und brachte sie erneut in die Kapelle von
Escorca. Wiederum war sie am nächsten Morgen nicht mehr an ihrem
Platz und wurde an der bekannten Stelle erneut entdeckt. Man
verstand nun den göttlichen Wink, dass die Madonna nicht in
Escorca, sondern genau am Fundort verehrt werden wollte und so
entstand ein weiteres Kirchlein, zu dem fortan die ersten Pilger
wanderten. Als der Wallfahrtsstrom immer mehr zunahm, wurde 1260
eine Augustinerabtei errichtet.
Der Cache ist auf dem Kalvarienberg (Puig del Calvari) neben dem
Kloster versteckt. Ein Rundweg führt hinten um den Berg herum an
riesigen Steinreliefs vorbei bis hinauf zum Aussichtspunkt und von
dort auf einer Steintreppe zum Cache, der etwas unterhalb des
Gipfels versteckt ist.
During centuries the Lluc monastery has been the most important
place of pilgrimage of the island.
The legend tells that in 1230 a shepherd boy called Lluc found a
madonna half buried in the earth. It was the Black Madonna called
„La Morenita“ which means the little dark one. The boy
brought his found to the pastor of the chapel Sant Pere in Escorca
(approx. 5 km off Lluc) which had just been erected at that time.
The pastor positioned the madonna in his chapel but the next day
she had disappeard. People found her at the same site where Lluc
had found her the day before. Again she was brought to the chapel
of Escorca and again she disappeard from there and was found at the
known place. The pastor understood god’s suggestion of the
place of worship and another chapel was built at the habitat. The
first pilgrims came there and when the pilgrimage continued to
increase an Augustinian abbey was found in 1260.
The cache is hidden at the calvary mountain (Puig del Calvari)
besides of the monastery. A loop road leads up at the rear side of
the mountain passing huge stone reliefs to the lookout point. From
there walk down on stone stairs to the cache which is hidden
somewhat beneath the summit.
