Eerste Belgische Earthcache: wand met 300 000 jaar geschiedenis.
Geologische Wand
"Driebankenheide"
Op 27 augustus 2009 heb ik deze cache geadopteerd van MADPalace. De
vraag is sindsdien ook aangepast!!!
De geologische site ligt in een voormalige grindgroeve, net achter
de gemeentelijke sporthal. Hier kan je de "Bodem van As" zien. De
groevewand toont immers geologische afzettingen die een
geschiedenis van 300.000 jaar laten zien. Men kan er ijstijden en
warmere periodes in ontdekken, en zo de geschiedenis
reconstrueren.
Via een trappentoren, 8.5 meter hoog, kan men de groevewand op
verschillende niveau's bezichtigen. Die trappentoren vormt middels
een loopbrug de verbinding tussen de bodem van de groeve en het
oorspronkelijk niveau.
Om deze cache te mogen loggen moet je via het profiel mailen welke
twee bossen in de omgeving liggen? Stuur je antwoord via het
profiel en plaats na goedkeuring je log met een foto van jezelf bij
de wand.
Het bord hangt er weer, dus je moet de vraag
kunnen beantwoorden.

Geologic Wall
"Driebankenheide"
The geological site is exactly behind the municipal sport hall.
Here you can see the "Bodem van As". The wall shows a geological
history of 300,000 years. One can discover the ice-age and warmer
periods. This way the history is reconstructed.
By using the steps on the 8.5 meter high tower, one can visit the
wall at several levels.
Find the name of the two forests near As.(" De 2 bossen in de
omgeving .... en .... .") Send your answer via the profile and
after confirmation you can add your log with a picture of yourself
in front of the wall.
The sign is available again, so you should be
able to find the answer!
