Geocache Description:

Tämä kätkö esittelee Teiskon ilmailu- ja moottoriurheilukeskuksen.
This cache introduces Teisko Aviation and Motor Sport Centre.

Teiskon ilmailu- ja moottoriurheilukeskus sijaitsee Kaanaassa, noin 50 km Tampereen keskustasta. Alueella on pienkonelentokenttä, rallitoimintaa sekä karting-, motocross-, rallicross- ja speedwayrata. Talvisaikaan motocrossrata on kelkkacrosskäytössä. 80-luvun suuruudenhulluissa suunnitelmissa alueelle kaavailtiin myös formula 1 -tasoista rataa hotelleineen, mutta noista suunnitelmista (onneksi!) luovuttiin :). Alueella on järjestetty Jukolan viesti vuosina 1986 ja 2008. Tapahtumien ja moottoriurheilukilpailujen aikaan alueella liikkuminen edellyttää luonnollisesti pääsymaksujen maksamista.

Teisko Aviation and Motor Sport Centre is located in Kaanaa, about 50 kilometers from Tampere city centre. It includes tracks for karting, motocross, rallycross and speedway, and a small airport. Motocrosstrack turns into snowcrosstrack in wintertime. In 80's there were quite ambitious plans to build a formula 1 -track with hotels and such into the area, but (luckily!) these plans have been abandoned since :). Jukola relay orienteering competition was organised in the area in 1986 and again in 2008. Please keep in mind that during some events organised in the area there will be an entrance fee.
