Geocache Description:

A visit to a small cemetery in Bedford, NH. The coordinates above are not those of the cache. You can use them for parking coordinates.

This cache is inspired by Shakespeare's tragedy Julius Caesar. A synopsis of the play as well as the full text can be found here.

"Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders that I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear; Seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come". (Act II, Scene II)

I drive past this cemetery often and it draws my attention every time I pass. I finally stopped one day to check out the headstones and see if I could piece together some story. I didn't find any interesting stories, but I did find one interesting date. One of the residents here died on a date that plays a key role in this play.

The Puzzle

To find the cache, find the headstone of person who died on the key date from the play. Use the age of that person when they died plus 223 as the magnetic heading to the cache. The cache is located in the stone wall. You don't have to move any stones to find the cache although it may be covered by leaves or sticks. If the person's age is an even number, it is best to search from inside the cemetery; otherwise, it is best to search from outside the cemetery.

I am always willing to give as much help as needed to solve my puzzles. Puzzles are meant to be solved, caches are meant to be found. E-mail me through my profile.
