The cache is NOT at the
listed coordinates!!!!!!!!! </p>
The following
fifteenth-order magic square was constructed in the early
1600's. The author is unknown. But it was reported by a
certain mathematician in the Arithmetischer Cubic-cossisher
Lustgarten. If you find his name it will assist you in
solving the magic square if you become stumped.
This certain
mathematician was a trained weaver. But soon excelled in math
and went on to open his own school.
He was an
algebraist and important for his work explaining logarithms and
sums of powers of integers.
He collaborated
with many eminent people of his day including the man who
calculated pi to 35 places.
To solve the
puzzle place numbers (1-255) in the squares so that the sum of
every row, column and main diagonal is the same. I have given
you many numbers to start you off. No number is
repeated. Place the numbers from the squares with
letters in them in the following to find the coordinates to the
cache, which is a log only (bring your own writing
impliment)
N
A*0B.0C W
D*E.0F
Those are
"zeros" before the B,C & F.
The cache area is
easy to get to with ample parking- but mugglers could be around
depending on the time of the day- so geostelth will be
required.
I hope this is a
challenging puzzle and enjoyable for everyone. But I think it will
take some work and research to solve. Good luck to all.
(you may have to draw in some of the lines for the squares as my
table would not come out right for some reason)
