Geocache Description:

A small halloweenish cache, along an evil avenue...

Meridian Avenue, in San Jose... a Highway to Hell? If you look at a map of the Bay Area, you will notice that this section of Meridian Avenue, if prolongated in the northern direction, goes straight to Mount Diablo... Creepy eh?

This is no coincidence, of course...

Mount Diablo has been choosen as one of the three initial points of California in 1852. The land surveys in Central California were done according to the initial point. The meridian passing through this initial point is called the prime (or principal) meridian.
The street of San Jose (probably derived from the lands subdivisions from to the surveys) on the prime meridian was named "Meridian Avenue".
And this is why Meridian Avenue points to Mount Diablo.

The cache is slightly bigger than a baby food jar. Please rehide well (or better).
There is an unactivated California 2006 geocoin as FTF prize (don't miss it is between the inner and outer container).

Thanks to budd_rdc for the idea and to Shadow101 for the inspiration.
