These potholes were carved by water running from and under glaciers
that covered the area over 10,000 years ago. The hard granite was
worn away by stones swirling around under the ice.
Northwestern Ontario has been formed by these glaciers and the
work they did to move material around and deposit it far from it's
source. Amazing to think how this looked 10,000 years ago, all
that's happened since, and how it looks today.
