This cache, a politically correct container, is located on a
promontory in the Ft Ord Back Country. You will have to bike, hike
or ride ole Paint some miles from any legal parking area to reach
this location. You will have to climb on steep back country trails
to reach this Mean One.
Surrounded by Wildcat Canyon, Impossible Ridge, Lookout Ridge,
Jacks Ranger Station, and Picnic Canyon, there are other nearby
caches that finders have described as tough but, this one is a
certified Mean One.
Note to mountain bikers- You will be able
to bike within a few feet of the cache. The last few hundred feet
remind us of mountain biking in Moab. Recommended MTB route: Park
at either Laguna Seca or Eighth and Gigling, make your way to the
point where trail 50 crosses Crescent Bluff Road. Climb on trail 49
to trail 11*. Left on trail 11 a short distance to the cache. Enjoy
the rest. Descend back to the point where trail 49 crosses trail
11. Continue to climb on trail 11. Left at the gate to trail 13. A
short ride on trail 13 to trail 50. Trail 50 is a single-track
downhill that is a Ft Ord favorite. Catch your breath and then Back
out the way you came in. Thank us later.
Note to the note- Trail 11 is now called Lookout Ridge Road and
trail 13 is Barloy Spur Road. Time marches on.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Walruz & BuckyD
