Geocache Description:

A lovely place more people should know about.

FANA KULTURPARK

Videre ligger Bergens første amfi i Fana kulturpark.

FANA CULTUREPARK

When Bergen city should celebrate the millennium, “Fana Kulturpark” where chosen at Bergen city’s millennium’s place.

Fana Kirke is built ca 1153. The landscape around the church has many cultural historic marks such as the old rectory alley and a stonebridge over the Fana river, witch is a part of the old “Stavanger mailroad” from the end of the 1700’s.

The culture park and the constructions built up here, is placed in a lower part in the landscape. Around it lays fields and old graveyards from the Vikings and ages before that.

The park has now had a renovation, a new bridge, the “Kings Bridge”, was opened by the Norwegian king, King Harald. The first amphi in Bergen is located in the culture park. The “Church Waterfall” and Fana River are some central elements in the park together with an old and beautiful vegetation.

The cache is a round box, ca 8 cm in diameter and 10 cm high.
