Mache einen Ausflug in das Gurktal und besuche den Dom zu Gurk,
eine Kirche die im 12. Jahrhundert gegründet wurde.
Deutsche Beschreibung:
Die Gründung des Domes zu Gurk geht auf das 12. Jahrhundert
zurück.
Schon im 11. Jahrhundert wurde von der Hl. Hemma, die schon zu
Lebzeiten verehrt wurde, ein Nonnenkloster in Gurk gegründet. Aus
diesem entstand über die Zeit der Dom mit der romanischen Krypta
(1174) und die Diözese Gurk. Genauere Informationen hierzu gibt es

Da ich nicht klären konnte, ob der Dom immer geöffnet ist, ist es
für den Cache selber nicht notwendig den Dom zu betreten, eine
Besichtigung ist aber auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert, besonders die
Krypta ist sehenswert.
Alle benötigten Informationen sind in unmittelbarer Nähe oder
dessen Aussenseite auffindbar.
Suche folgende Informationen:
- vor dem Dom, bei den Startkoordinaten, findest Du eine
Mariensäule. In welchem Jahr wurde diese von der Pfarrgemeinde
errichtet? Nimm die Quersumme dieser Jahreszahl als "A"
- auf der linken Seite des Domes findest Du ein Gebäude mit 2
alten Sonnenuhren. Suche auf diesen Sonnenuhren die Jahreszahlen
und bilde die Differenz. Nehme diesen Wert als "B"
- auf der rechten Seite und vor dem Dom, befindet sich der
Friedhof. Gehe über diesen auf die Rückseite und suche eine Tafel.
Diese Tafel kennzeichnet die Stelle der Gründung im Jahre 1042.
Über der Inschrift befinden sich eine Anzahl von Ringen bzw.
Kreisen. Zähle diese Ringe/Kreise und nimm deren Anzahl als
"C"
- In der Nähe der Tafel befindet sich ein kleines Nebengebäude
mit einer bestimmten Funktion. Wie heisst dieses Nebengebäude? Du
findest den Namen auch auf einer kleinen Hinweistafel gleich davor.
Nimm die Anzahl der Buchstaben der Gebäudebezeichnung als
"D"
Der Cache:
Ich habe den Cache absichtlich nicht am Gelände des Domes plaziert
um etwaige religiösen Gefühle nicht zu verletzen. Der gewählte
Platz ist nicht sehr weit entfernt und man hat eine schöne Aussicht
auf den Dom und in das Gurktal. Man kann den Weg dorthin zu Fuss,
ca. 5-10 Min., oder mit einem fahrbaren Untersatz (Auto, Motorrad,
etc.) zurücklegen. Bis auf die letzten 3-5 Meter ist der Weg auch
für Kinderwagen oder Rollstuhl geeignet, danach sollte er etwas
Offroad tauglich sein.
Die Cache-Koordinaten:
N1 = N0 - B - (C * D)
E1 = E0 + A
Der Cachebehälter ist eine kleine, hoffentlich wasserdichte,
Plastikdose.
Bitte den Bleistift, den Spitzer und das Logbuch nicht
entfernen.

The foundation of the cathedral dates back to the 12.
century.
In the 11. century a nunnery was founded by St. Hemma. Out of this
nunnery the cathedral, the roman crypta (build 1174) and the
diocese arose. You will find more information on www.dom-zu-gurk.at or
wikipedia.
I wasn't able to find out the opening hours of the cathedral,
therefore you don't have to enter the church to solve the riddle. I
highly recommend to visit the church, especially the crypta. You
will find all the informations outside the church or in the near
surrounding.
Look for the following informations:
- in front of the cathedral, at the given coordinates, you will
find a column (Mariensäule). Find the year this column was build by
the parish (Pfarrgemeinde). Let the crossfoot of this number be
"A".
- left of the cathedral you will find a building with two old
sundials. Look for the dates and calculate the difference. Let this
value be "B"
- on the right side and in front of the cathedral you will find
the cemetery. Go across this cemetery to the back side of the
cathedral. Here you will find a plate . This plate indicates the
place where the nunnery was founded back in 1042. Above the
inscription, still on the plate, you will see a number of rings,
respectively circles. Count these rings/cirlces and let the number
be "C"
- close to the plate you will find an adjoining building with a
dedicated function. What is the name of this building? You will
find the name on a small sign-board. Please take the german name.
Count the letters of the name of the building and let the number be
"D"
The cache:
Intentionally the cache isn't hidden on the area of the cathedral.
The hiding place isn't far away. You will have a beautiful sight to
the cathedral and into the valley. You can go there by foot, it
will take you 5-10 minutes, or go by vehicel (car, motorcycle,
etc.). The route is adequate for strollers and wheelchairs, except
for the last 3-5 meters.
The final coordinates:
N1 = N0 - B - (C * D)
E1 = E0 + A
The cache container is a small plastic box.
Please don't remove the pencil, the sharpener and the
logbook.
