„Großer Stein“
von Buchholz
Der „Große
Stein“ von Buchholz ist ein Groß –
Geschiebe“, das während der Weichsel- Eiszeit von den
Massen des Inland – Eises aus Skandinavien bis in unsere
Heimat „geschoben“ wurde.
Es handelt sich um ein vom
Eis glattgeschliffenes, in seiner Mineralzusammensetzung
einheitliches Feldstück, das eine Länge von ca. 6,5m und
eine Breite von 4,5m und unbekannte Mächtigkeit aufweist. Sein
Gewicht wird auf ca. ???? Tonnen
geschätzt.
Das Groß
–Geschiebe besteht aus einem hellen, mittel- bis
grobkörnigen Granit, dessen Hauptbestandteile Feldspat, Quarz
und Glimmer deutlich zu erkennen sind.
Der ( wahrscheinlich aus
???? stammende ) Granit ist reich an
Kieselsäure, er enthält ca. 65 bis 80 % SiO2. Der Quarz
ist grobkörnig, weißlich – fettglänzend.
Außerdem enthält der Granit weißen Kalifeldspat (
Orthoklas ), rosafarbenen Calcium – Natrium – Feldspat
( Plagioklas ) und ein wenig dunklen Glimmer (Biotit
).
Das Alter des Granits
dürfte, im Verglech mit ähnlichen Vorkommen, ca

"Great Rock" by Buchholz
During the Weichsel glacation, a large
bedload was pushed from within Scandanavia to Bucholz. Afterwards,
it was named the "Great Rock" by Bucholz.
This rock is cut smooth from ice, from
unified mineral composition, and about 6.5 x 4.5 m of size. The
weight is about ???? tonnes. It
consists of a bright granite, whose main components feldspar,
quartz and mica are clearly visible.
The (probably originating from
???? ) granite is rich in silica, it
contains about 65 to 80% SiO2. The quartz is coarse grained, bright
white. Moreover, the white granite K-feldspar (orthoclase), pink
calcium-sodium feldspar (plagioclase), and some dark mica
(biotite).
The age of the granite is roughly
(compared to similar occurences) about ???? million years.
Today, the "Great Rock" by Buchholz, is
a protected natural monument.
