How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Lion Rock is a buttress of rock overlooking Cheddar village.
You will have to walk on the lion's back to find the cache.

To reach the cache site, start in Cufic Lane which has red 24 hr access signs on the gateposts and is more or less opposite the Visitor Information Centre. After approx 50m up the lane, look for the signposted 'no through route' path on the right hand side. Go up the wooden steps and through the gate (NT have given us permission to go through the gate to get to the cache location), then immediately turn right and head across the field towards the cache coordinates.
Please do not try to approach from any other direction.

The approach to the cache area is steep with loose rocks underfoot and sheer drops nearby - please take care.

Thank you to the National Trust for granting permission to place this cache on their land
