Another in a series of Rest Stop Caches, this one has some unique characteristics. First is the view - it is spectacular! Two miles West of the cache location is a vista point - it is good. Then check out the Rest Stop parking lot view - it is great. Then seek out the cache for an even better view.
Go to the coordinates shown above and you will find a man made structure. Drink in the view, take some pictures, and then go under the structure you are standing on. Look carefully and you will find the information you need to discover the actual cache location. Be careful - it is a long way down!
The actual cache location is only a few hundred feet from where you are standing, but in a less open location. The cache container is smallish, so bring small/take whatever. When placed it contained:
- A Bag of Balloons,
- A Mini-Flashlight,
- A Koosh Mickey Mouse (Minnie is in I-80 EB),
- A Bag of Golf Tees and Ball Markers,
Some Nice 'n Clean Moist Hand Wipes,
- A Fabric Tape Measure,
- A U.S.Flag Sticker, thank you American Beauty Cache near Reno,
- A Small Packet of Tomato Seeds,
- A "Keep Tahoe Blue" Window Decal,
- A Small Plastic Dinosaur,
- A Small Pack of BandAids,
- A Halloween Whistle,
- A Plastic Egg of Silly Putty, and
- A Small Jar of Lip Balm.
Plus a GeoCache Notice, Log Book, and Pens.
