//////////Notice: AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION //////// I am closing out this cache because we are moving out of state. This is said to be the oldest Cache in Butte County and for the next 2 weeks, someone can adopt it, otherwise, I will be dismantling it sometime after 8/12/2018. This is a Theme, Multi-Cache, located in the beautiful, Upper Bidwell Park. This cache was originally established in 2001.
Important: Because this is such a well trodden trail, I had to hide these caches better than in most other places. This makes it pretty much an imperative that the Stage Photos are obtained. If the upper park road gate is closed, park in the parking lot and the entire quest is approximately 3.5 miles long. If the gate is open, park in the Alligator Hole parking lot, (39°46.2577 X 121°45.9844) and your total hike will be about: 1-3/4 miles. This quest is designed to be as easy on the terrain as possible; the entire quest is located on the creek side, Yahi Trail. The theme for this cache highlights of the Biblical Story of the Exodus; like in the movie, The Prince of Egypt. Each step of the way brings to mind a facet of the Exodus story, in words, and photos, of the actual sites. Each station has quotes from the Exodus Biblical narrative. There are a total of 4 stages. Watch out for poison oak which is abundant in the area. If summertime temperatures are high, consider doing this cache in the morning hours. If not, take adequate water.
An alternative starting stage for smart-phone tech users: This bonus first stage, is a “QR” code. The code is linked to a webpage with the narrative and next coordinates. So, having a smart phone with a Quick Response code reader, is necessary for this. Your starting point is: 39°46.225 x 121°45.981, real close to the parking lot. 2. Non smart-phone users, should proceed to the main coordinates listed for this cache. The next two caches, are camouflaged pvc pipes. The final one is a concealed ammo can. Bidwell Park is a very popular place with many trails so please be discreet and watchful when honing in on the cache and encourage your young geo-searchers, to do the same my last final went "missing in action." The final cache contains some fun items and a log. I hope you enjoy this quest.
