Geocache Description:

Update July 24, 2021: A couple of recent reports indicate the contents of this cache have become very wet. I'll try to get out there with a new container and dry contents within the next couple of days. Happy to have the oldest cache in Wood County, WI. Best wishes to all!

The site of this cache is Nepco Lake County Park. It draws its name from the fact that the park's 125 acres were once owned by Nekoosa Papers (which was formerly known as the Nekoosa-Edwards Paper Company, or NEPCO). The paper company has changed hands a few times in recent years and is now part of Domtar. Meanwhile, the forests within the park have continued to develop. The route to the cache takes you through a mature pine forest with some very large white pines.
