Located near the abandoned Laurel Hill Turnpike Tunnel.
Don't worry-- the cache is not inside the SPOOKY tunnel (though some might like that). The tunnel has been abandoned since the 1960s when the traffic became more than it could handle... so an above ground bypass was built. Most of us have probably been on the bypass, but I'll bet that there aren't so many who have had the experience of driving through the tunnel while it was in operation (let us know if you have). A good route (just about the only route) to this cache is from Kuhntown Road. At the top of the hill, just into the Forbes State Forest (coming from "Kuhn"town), there is a place to park on the right. Follow this grassy trail less than 0.5 mile to the water-tank and cut down into the woods. You can still see the water-tank from the cache and also the roof of the tunnel entrance. Note: The tunnel has a "No Tresspassing" sign above the entrance. State Police frequent the area and don't even like people being on the abandoned roadway that leads into the tunnel. Still, from up in the woods you can get a good view of the tunnel and it's SPOOKYness (or maybe it's just me that thinks it's SPOOKY). ***The Terra Server air photo is crisp!

It was a fantastic Fall day, so I figured I'd go geocaching. I found this cache during the summer, but recently I did notice the post from someone asking about parking coordinates. I remember when I went looking for this one, I was a bit confused where to park as well. Anyway, this afternoon I was over on the other side of Kuhntown Rd nabbing the Mile 35 cache and figured I'd record the coordinates for the parking area at the end of the grass path noted for this one. I got N40 05.6454 W079 13.3102. Took a couple pictures too. Hope this helps those who follow!

I'm sure I'm not the only one that if there were parking coordinates this would help. I followed my gps and it went to private property with a locked gate. Went up the road to a microwave tower and then it started to pour rain. don't know if I was in the right place or not. Would like to try this one again next spring when I'm in the area.
I've been thought the tunnel. Remember it as a child. You always had to wait to get through. It was always hot and cars would over heat. My grandson wants to go with me the next time. Please consider putting a parking coordinate for those of us who don't know the area.

Got this one on my own. Didn't put a waypoint in for where I parked, didn't think I would have too much trouble since gps said I wasn't too far away. Found the cache fairly quick, but had trouble finding the Jeep. Bushwacked for about 2 hours and it was starting to get dark when I finally found the road and spotted the Jeep. Was a little dizzy from going in circles but all-in-all had a great time. Very interesting area. TFTC! Took a keychain and left several tradable items since cache contents were pretty low. Took the DDRAMS geocoin but didn't see any other trackable items.

Nice location. Took the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail inbound and the "Grass Trail" out. Both were a nice walk.

Did not find either of the listed travel bugs; however, I did find (and grabbed) a Travel Slug, TSRRWA. Dropped DDRAMS Geocoin.

They still use the tunnel for testing their race equipment and whatnot.
