Bushfire Recovery – Nesting Box Workshop
Wildlife are being smashed by relentless fires. Scientists estimate half a billion animals have been lost this fire season.
The Rescue Collective and ARC teams are working in the field now to support wildlife carers everywhere. But we need makers.
Bunning stores across Ballarat have taken up the call and are generously donating materials and space to run a nesting box maker workshop.
We will be building nesting boxes of various sizes and dimensions to cater for a range of small animals, birds and microbats across Victoria. These nesting boxes are being built to designs from wildlife shelters and have been selected based upon requests coordinated through the Animal Rescue Collective (10 boxes for small animals or birds are needed for every large possum box made so we are focusing on our smaller furry and feathered friends).
Come join us at Delacombe Bunnings where we will be taking pre-cut (Thanks Bunnings Trade Team!) pieces to assemble and paint in store. All materials will be supplied.
