"CRACKINUP" CACHE Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Barefoot: Some time between krrystafir's find on 04/20/2016 and Dickslost's DNF on 09/22/2017 this one was stolen. It was r3d3y3'f log on 09/01/2018 that got me up there today.
The cache was not where I hid it. I gave a thorough search of the nearby spots, including much poking with the hiking stick. Then I began a wider search looking for what r3d3y3 found. On the third pass I spotted part of a D-Con container. Not the ammo box I hid. Interesting. It was clearly marked on the outside as a Geocache. After a bit of moving leaves about I found a familiar calling card from AlphaDog. Looks like this is the container they found on 10/24/2015.
Long story short, all clear for the next hider.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Geocache Description:

Cache is hidden near the Horse caves area in the Holyoke range. The site is accessible from the Notch visitor's center, Bay road in Amherst, or Bachelor St in granby.

Near the Horse caves, the White trail climbs/descends a crack in the rock,(depending on your approach).
The original placement of the cache was to the SE, way back in the largest crack. After pokeing around the rock formations, follow the rock face NW. There are a couple of neat formations along the rock face (if you find them you've gone too far). There is a slab laying across the trail. Look to the right(about 150 ft from the crack). The cache is less than 50 ft from the trail.

Should be snow friendly, at least up to 1/2 a foot or so.
