Diese Waldtour ist 2,5km lang und dauert ca. 1,5 Stunden. Geh’ bei Tageslicht und am besten so, dass Du vor 17h in der Abteikirche warst (ab dann könntest Du auf die Schüler des Priesterseminars treffen (vielleicht stört das aber auch nicht weiter)). Wenn Du in die Krypta willst, könnte eine Taschenlampe nützlich sein.
Am Parkplatz N50° 52.030, E 6° 04.802 gibt es ein Gehege mit Ziegen, Damwild, Gänsen, einem Hängebauchschwein und anderen Tieren, die man leider aber nicht (mehr) füttern darf.
Wertsachen im Auto scheinen auf dem Parkplatz nicht sicher zu sein, zumindest liegen immer wieder Autoglasscherben herum.
Du kannst WPT A und B entweder am Anfang oder am Ende des Rundwegs machen.
Wegpunkt (WPT) A: N 50° 52.091, E 6° 04.896. Wieviele Nischen in der Frontseite der Kirche enthalten Statuen? Anzahl + 2 = A.
WPT B: Ohne Koordinaten! Dieser Wegpunkt liegt in der Abteikirche. Geh’ durch die Tür unter der Inschrift ‚Auspice deo’. An der Rezeption, die in einem eigenen Raum rechts hinter der Tür liegt, gehst Du aber geradeaus vorbei und biegst stattdessen im nächsten Flur rechts ab. Dort ca. 20m geradeaus und ein paar Stufen hoch und Du bist in der Kirche. Dieser Ort ist öffentlich; Lichtschalter neben der Tür sorgen gegebenenfalls für schwaches Licht. Such’ nach dem Bodenmosaik „Leonibus fortiores“*. Die Anzahl der Löwinnen = B.
(Alternative bei Konzerten in der Kirche: B = Anzahl der Springbrunnen im Innenhof des Kreuzgangs, durch den Du gekommen bist.)
Wenn Du was für gruselige Atmosphäre übrig hast, geh’ in die Krypta unter dem Altar. Sie wurde 1108 erbaut und beherbergt interessante Gebeine...
Historische Führungen durch das gesamte spannende Gemäuer können übrigens das ganze Jahr über für 45 Eur (für bis zu 20 Teiln.) vereinbart werden. Informationen gibt’s auf Deinem (gleichen) Rückweg bzw. an der Rezeption (und im web). Leider gibt es hier keine ständig geöffnete gastronomische Einrichtung (aber eigenes Abteibier in der z.B. 2Fl-Geschenkpackung für 7,5 Euro an der Rezeption).

Auf dem Weg zu WPT G1 ist die Strecke schöner, die über die kleine Bruecke rechts im Wald führt. WPT G1: N 50° 52.196, E 6° 04.960. Auf der Insel im See steht ein grosser Baum. Ist es eine Weide (X=4), Eiche (X=3) oder Tanne (X=2)?
Weiter teichaufwaerts lautet der zweite Teil der Frage G am vierten Teich: Seit wann angelt der H.S.V. Ons Genoegen hier? Seit 19Y1. X + Y = G
Die Cache-Box wurde leider im Fruehjahr 2006 geklaut. Ihr koennt den cache aber jetzt loggen, nachdem Ihr auf eine mail an ABCDEFG@gmx.de eine automatische Antwort von mir erhalten habt!

This forest trip of about 2,5 km takes roughly 1,5 hours. Go at daylight and preferably before 5 p.m., after that you might encounter the students of the religious seminary in the abbey. If you want to visit the old Crypt a flashlight could come handy.
At the parking site N50° 52.030, E 6° 04.802 you’ll find an area with lots of animals, but it’s not allowed to feed them.
Be careful not to leave valuables in your car, piles of car glas indicate car robberies time and again.
You can do WPT A and B either at the beginning or at the end of the loop tour.
Waypoint (WPT) A: N 50° 52.091, E 6° 04.896. How many niches in the frontside of the abbey contain statues? Number + 2 = A.
WPT B: Without coordinates! This waypoint is within the abbey. Enter the building under the inscription ‘Auspice deo’. Pass straight by the reception (the room to your right) and turn right in the next corridor. 20m straight ahead and some steps up and you’re in the abbey. This is a public location; switch on a dim light at the door if necessary. Look out for the floor mosaic ‘Leonibus fortiores’*. The number of the female lions = B.
(In case there’s a concert in the abbey: Instead count the number of fountains in the inner court yard of the cloister, where you went by = B.)
If you like spooky atmospheres, visit the crypt below the altar. It was built in 1108 and contains some interesting bones…
You can book historical tours here year round for 45 Euros (up to 20 participants). Information is available on the (same) way back or at the reception (and in the web). Unfortunately there is no permanently opened public gastronomy but you can get e.g. a two bottles + glas package of the traditional abbey beer at the reception for 7,5 Euro.

While walking to WPT G1, it’s nicer if you choose the path via the little bridge you’ll see to your right in the wood. WPT G1: N 50° 52.196, E° 6 04.960. On the island in the lake you'll see a big tree. Is it a willow (X=4), an oak (X=3) or a fir tree (X=2)? (nederlands: wilg, eiken or den boom?)
Heading onward the second part of question G is at lake four: When was the H.S.V. Ons Genoegen founded? 19Y1. X + Y = G
