Do this one when you have the time for a long leisurely hike. An off road bicycle would be a good way to go to this cache. There are some up and downs and the trail is not a direct route. (For those bored with my other caches). Total trail walking distance 2.9 miles. A starting point from the new highway is N47 17.878 W093 22.969.
Again, a lot of trails in the area, be careful on the way in and out. This is the spot where the mining company had a weir many years ago to control the level of Holman Lake. Along the way you might pass tailings ponds with "red sand" and a lookout over the south part of Holman Lake. If it is grouse season, bring your shotgun. If you need further info, please email me.
