Geocache Description:

Let's do it again! Join us for a geocacher's gathering at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, September 25, 2004.

This "cache" is a cheap imitation of this event held almost two years ago.

The picnic will be held on the property of my parents in rural Greensburg. It's difficult to offer driving directions except to say that we are on Route 819 between South Greensburg and Armbrust. Fortunately, this should not be too much of an issue for this group. My advice is to find your way to New Stanton or Youngwood and then follow your GPS from there. We have ample parking.

Bring the family. The kids will enjoy the "rides" that we have set up in the woods. Pets with well-behaved owners are also welcome to attend. I think we'll probably spend most of our time socializing and putting names and faces to the geocache logs but you're welcome to throw a couple of horseshoes if you like. I will set out a couple of temporary caches so be sure to bring along your GPS if you would like to try them. The picnic will have to break up when it gets dark since we don't have any lights in our picnic area. If anyone has a picnic shelter they can lend for the cause, please let me know. We may have to reschedule this thing if it rains.

Bring an entrée (burgers, dogs, etc.) for yourself and a covered dish (chips, cookies, potato salad, etc.) to share with fellow geocachers. I'll supply a gas grill and campfire for cooking. I'll also supply tables, chairs, plates, cups, napkins, plasticware, and drinks. Beer will be available but I expect any drinking to be done in moderation. This is a family affair. Anyone who overindulges will be beaten severely and stuffed into a cache.

Did you know that Westmoreland County is a micro-free zone? That's right! There is just one crummy micro in the whole county and it will be making a special appearance at the picnic so that you can initial the logscrap to knock it off your list.

I hope to see you all there! Please RSVP by posting a log to this page.
