The New Zealand and South Seas International Exhibition of 1925-26 in Dunedin was an impressive World Fair of which there is surprisingly little evidence left. Running from
17 November 1925 through to 1 May 1926, the total attendance figure was 3,200,498 with an average daily attendance of 22,538 and the final day 83,935. This was even more impressive given the 1921 census showed a Dunedin population of just over 72,250.
The land used was specifically reclaimed for the project. The area was an inlet prior to a railway embankment construction, then went from Lake to Exhibition land to the Park it is now. This was the third such Fair that Dunedin hosted; the previous being in 1865 and 1889.
The co-ordinates given above are for an object specifically made for the Exhibition and later moved to where it now stands. Take the time to study this item carefully.
You will find the information to get to the next waypoint upon it. Since we are now using WGS84 as a datum, subtract 563 from the longitude co-ordinate to find this rather small container. Follow the instructions you find within.
