The coordinates listed are not for the cache, see below for the puzzle. Put on your hiking shoes. This one will take a little walking. Remember that the journey is the reason for placing this cache, so take in the sights and sounds on the way. NYSOPRHP Permit Number 4WENC Exp 5-18-07
The difficulty rater on the website rated this 4 for terrain and 3.5 for difficulty. My 8 year old daughter accompanied me while placing this and other caches, so I'll let you decide. You can minimize your walking and backtracking by reading everything on all four cache pages. This is a puzzle cache you will need to find numbers as indicated below. The following caches contain clues to this puzzle: Owl Point Beaver Overlook Orange Hairpin The actual coordinates to the cache are 44 17.ABC 076 02.DEF A-found in a cache listed above B-2nd number in the day on the dedication plaque in the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center Museum C-Last number in the date on fireplace dedication plaque D-3rd number in the Nature Center Museum bldg number E-found in a cache listed above F-2nd number on Minna Anthony Common Photo You will also need three additional numbers. These clues are in the above named caches. It is very important to replace this cache exactly as it is placed now. There is a FTF prize (if you are hungry) and a well stocked cache full of hiking items and toys for the kids. This cache is located in the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center of Wellesley Island State Park. Some basic rules of the park are: 1) No bicycles or motor vehicles are allowed on the trails, 2) Please stay on the trails (no bushwacking), do not stray from the paths, (none of these will take you near or over an edge), 3) This is a carry-in/carry out park, 4) Dogs must be on a 6 ft leash and have proof of current rabies vaccination, 5) All caches are within 20' of trails. Trail Hours are Dawn to Dusk Minna Anthony Common Nature Center Museum Hours are 10 am-4 pm. Beginning Mid June a log book will be established in the Nature Center Museum for Geocachers. Ask at the desk and leave your comments if you wish. There is a $6-7 park entrance fee from around Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. There is also a $2 toll for the 1000 Islands Bridge for anyone not living on Wellesley Island. Please stop by the Nature Center Museum. It is free and there is a lot of information about the area and a hands on room for an added adventure. This cache is a piece of a puzzle cache. Puzzles don't work well if the pieces are not put back exactly where they were originally. Please look at the cache placement after you figure out its location and put it back as exactly as possible. That makes it just as fun for the next cacher to find it. And since most caches are very close to the trails, it decreases the likelihood that they might be muggled. These are the first caches placed in the Nature Center after the new State Regulations were put into effect. The Nature Center Curator has designated me as the Geocaching POC for both the Nature Center and the Wellesley Island State Park. If you want to place a cache in these areas, please e-mail me. FTF was Gob-ler. He got the $10 Red Lobster Gift Card.

Well after a wee bit of work, a lost digit due to a laundry mishap, a battery dying on the trail and a FUN return to the trail and business at hand, I found this, Special thanks to Binrat for helping me put all the bits and pieces of numbers and alphanumeric things together to come up with a reasonable distance to search. The cache was in super shape, well stocked with some nice things and well worth the visit on this warm, sunny DECEMBER day. Saw lots of porcupines about today. Will upload photo of one that was particularly cute! A wonderful hike. Dropped a TB and hope to see it travel far. TNLN TFTC

Wow, where to start. I started doing the Minna Anthony caches last winter, but more recently did the relevant ones for this final in the summer. I must say that by the end of my day of caching (in the summer), I was drenched in sweat. I attempted to attend the event a few weeks ago, but leaving yours and your childrens passports on the kitchen counter is never a good thing. Today however, I made my way in to the trails from the south side. It was a very cold day, but the excitement of the find warmed me quite well. After correcting a snag at the gz I made the find (oh glorious ammo can) and was able to sign the log. I can see how this cache is iconic to the area cachers, it offers a great opportunity for hiking and enjoying the beauty of the local trails. I'm thankful for caches like this that provide me the opportunity for exercise, relaxation, anticipation and the excitement of the find.

Post script to this puzzle...I could have gone along with a group of cachers for the final but I had not found ALL the pieces individually, so in all honesty, must complete this later and will log the final when I have solved this on my own and with complete integrity to the owner. It is indeed a puzzle worthy of the trek and the clues so far have been in place and in good condition. With the bow hunting on the boundary for orange hairpin , this piece will have to wait. Thanks for the great challenge so far...it will be a nice smiley when I have truthfully done it all, independent of hand-off or helps. It may take until next year but what a great reason to come back and walk the trails again. This is a BEAUTIFUL area. Thank you for your puzzle...this one has some nice elements... cheers

Whew! After a couple of years of doing parts of this cache, we finally made it to the end. Very rewarding. We (only one of the hamfam5 along with some Canadian friends), had a nice walk in the woods on a beautiful fall day, while enjoying the annual fall geocaching event up here. We only had to dodge the raindrops for a short time, but not enough to spoil the day. Fun cache, and fun to cache with other cachers, especially on one as challenging as this one. TFTF. (coin drop and pickup for the miles)
