The Seanachai: Greetings from Geocaching.com,

While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you for a reasonable amount of time, we cannot do so indefinitely. In light of the lack of communication regarding this cache it has been archived to free up the area for new placements. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up this cache or any remaining bits as soon as possible. If you are in the process of replacing or repairing your cache please e-mail me in response to this archival and, if possible, I will unarchive your cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute in the past and I am looking forward to your continued contributions to the sport of Geocaching.

Geocache Description:

A two part multi-cache with a puzzle! You will need some basic knowledge of geometry and a calculator to find this cache. The application GeoCalc will be very helpful.

THE PUZZLE
The coordinates above are not the location of the cache. They are one vertex of a regular pentagon. A second vertex is at a bearing of 90 degrees and a distance of five miles from the first. You must calculate the coordinates for this vertex and the others. At one of the eight vertices you will find a parking area, a trailhead, and a commemorative marker You will know which vertex is correct because, using the DD MM.MMM system, the seven digits for the north coordinates will add up to 32 (+ or – 2) and the seven digits for the west coordinates will add up to 25 ( + or – 2).
NOTE: There are two mirror image pentagons that can be drawn using the common base.

THE MICRO
PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN LOCATION!!!
To find the micro with the final coordinates, slide the red and white striped object that you will see at the trailhead. The numbers can be read without opening the capsule but it will open if you separate the cap at the chain end from the rest of the body. Please be sure to leave it well-concealed.

THE CACHE
The cache is a small former pill container which contains the requisite logbook and several small trade items. Round trip distance from the parking to the cache is approximately one mile and includes a moderate hill.

Good luck!

NOTE: I will verify your coordinates if you email them to me. They do not have to be exact because you are going to a parking area with a marker and a trailhead, but they must be precise enough to get you to the right one. DD MM.MMM will get you close enough.

UPDATE 2/5/06 I moved the final further up the trail to take advantage of the excellent view referred to in GO$Rs log. No other part of the puzzle or the cache is affected.

UPDATE 12/29/08 Location of the final changed slightly.
