Hidden deep in the Laurel Highlands are several amazing rock formations, like Elk Rock and Glaciers Den. Yet of all of them, perhaps the most breathtaking are the massive boulders that comprise The Lost Crag.
The formations found at The Lost Crag are truly amazing. Boulders larger than buildings area toppled onto one another, creating tiny caves and narrow winding passageways. The cache is hidden in one of these passages.

From Dunbar, follow Dunbar-Ohiopyle Rd to the Game Commission building on your right. There is a a gravel road that branches off next to the building. Follow the gravel road to the gas line clearing, where you will see a parking area and two red metal gates on the left. Park there. Now hike up the access road behind the right gate and cross the wooden bridge, then bear right. Continue to the large field on your right, and find the footpath on the other side. Now follow the very old logging roads to the cache. It can be confusing, but luckily once you hit the logging roads, climbers have marked the correct trails with small stone piles and stones in tree branches.

If you look on maps you may see roads that lead much closer to the cache than the suggested parking. Please note that the maps of these roads are inaccurate and those that are there are [supposed to be] gated.

The cache is a green ammo can inside the passages. The exact coordinates may be sketchy as the reception here is poor, and the directions can be more confusing than they sound. Assuming some people may find some difficulty with this, I have provided three hints to use. Good luck!

Have fun exploring all the passages and formations =)

Well, we did and we found it. AMB found it, I was standing right beside it when she spotted it.
Love these rocks, we will be back again!
We left a TB for somone else to pass along.

Was at this parking lot about a year ago trying to do another cache but couldn't get across the creek. This time we had to go up up and still more up . Got to where the GPS said to go to the right but I looked at the field that the cache page said was a large field and I said this is just a small field so we went up the road Up Up and morer up and all the time all I heard was Mrs Rabbit cop saying we are going the wrong way we should have turned way back there. Where she said we should have turned my GPS said .25 now where we were at it showed .53 and Now I listened to Mrs Rabbit cop and back down we went ,made the turn where she wanted to go about a hour ago . Now it has started to rain , we worked our way up to those really big rocks and I left her down while I climbed up to get the cache I looked and looked but no could find ,I went back down and started over again this time I made the find and I yelled I found it lets get going home . she said I am not going home untill we get the other one so off we went in the rain for RoughRider. Well, this is my story, sad as it may be. We got to the right trail and started up when my GPS shot to the right. I told Rabbit Cop we should go here, he insisted that we sjhould being going up the trail and I said I don't think so, he decided to go take a look anyway but he didn't go far enough to see the markings. As a result he walked me almost the whole way to the top of the hill and finally decided he was wrong, so back down the hill. We got on the right track when it started raining, saw the stone piles but then ran into a whole bunch of trees cut down across the trail, then the fun began trying to get over them. Then the rocks started making it a little difficult to walk but we finally made it to the big rocks all the time raining. Rabbit Cop went and got the cache while I waited down below. I didn't have too much to say to him on the way down after he walked me an extra three quarters of a mile up that hilll and back down. Picture to follow. TFTC TNLNSL
